Meet the Team

Paighe Vaughn

Paige Vaughn, DVM

Owner/Veterinarian

Dr. Paige Vaughn is originally from Cairo, GA. Her and her family settled in Perry in 2020 and have become proud Perry locals.  Dr. Vaughn is a “Double Dawg”  with both a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science (Class of 2014) and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (Class of 2019) from the University of Georgia. Her professional passion is rooted in preventative veterinary care so that all critters may live as happy & healthy as possible.

When not working, Dr. Vaughn can be found spending time with her husband, Cameron, and son, Bryson. They enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, cheering on their beloved Dawgs, and caring for all the fur animals on their mini-farm.

Shelly Mitchell

Vet Assistant

Shelly has been an original staff member of Fix-A-Pet since its launch in December 2023. She has been in the veterinary field for 15 years with many years of experience in practice management. Shelly has worked closely with Dr. Vaughn to help create what Fix-A-Pet is today. Shelly’s favorite aspects of this field are working with our cat patients (even the ferals!) and client education.

Kayla Kroger

RVT

Kayla joined the Fix-A-Pet team in April 2024. Kayla is a registered vet technician with a degree from Fort Valley State University. She has experience in both general practice and shelter medicine, and her favorite aspects of this field are surgery & anesthesia. Kayla’s favorite pastime is wearing decorative scrubs to celebrate her favorite holidays.
